Court of Protection Solicitor - Private Client
Our Private Client and Medical Negligence team work closely and collaboratively on a range of matters to ensure the best support and service for our clients. Due to their ever-increasing success, we are looking for an experienced Solicitor to join us to continue and develop this comprehensive service establishing and managing Court of Protection Deputyships.
This role would be best suited to a solicitor of at least 8 years’ PQE with experience of preparing all types of applications to the Court of Protection. A strong working knowledge of COP best practice and experience in managing Deputyships for medical negligence and personal injury cases will be required, in addition to experience with Personal Injury Trusts and Statutory Wills. Experience of being appointed as a professional Deputy for Property and Finances is not essential but will be advantageous as the position will necessitate the candidate being appointed on new matters.
Providing an excellent opportunity to join our expansive Private Client team, this role will build strong relationships across the business and critically with our Medical Negligence lawyers, working closely with them to develop this position. This role would have the prospect to lead and grow a newly evolving team, and as such, our new member will have a passion and drive for business development and leadership.
- · Preparing a wide range of applications to the Court of Protection.
- · Acting as Deputy for ‘P’ for Property and Finances
- · Managing Deputyships, particularly in clinical negligence and catastrophic injury cases.
- · Liaising with third parties including doctors, IFAs, case managers and therapists.
- Controlling and monitoring client budgets.
