Evie’s stunning image of St John’s church wins Tees prize

Photography has long been recognised as a great way to communicate ideas, thoughts and feelings and inspire imagination. That’s certainly what Tees found when we launched a photographic competition open to schools in Royston.

Tees is a keen supporter of community-based projects, many of them in education. Our team in the Tees Royston office wanted to source artwork for their office walls that reflected local life, so we decided to enlist the help of budding photographers from surrounding schools.

The competition proved very popular, with the top four finalists coming from Greneway Middle School. The students were awarded their prizes of Amazon vouchers at a recent school assembly. The winner of the first prize was Evie O’Connor who received £100 for her excellent shot of St John’s church. Second prize of £75 went to Liam Morgan, third prize of £50 to Jazmin Brett, and Tilly Read won the fourth prize of £25.

Letty Glaister who heads up the Tees office in Royston was delighted with the way the competition went: “We had a great response from local schools, they produced some amazing images that really capture Royston life. It was a pleasure to work with the staff and students; all the entrants showed real talent and creativity. We’re looking forward to displaying the winning photographs in our office.”
