What are my options if my employer is treating me differently because of my age?

Under the Equality Act 2010, treating someone less favourably because of their age may be unlawful. It is also unlawful to harass or victimise a person because of their age. This applies to all aspects of the working relationship between employers and employees, from recruitment, to terms and conditions, training, promotions and transfer right through to dismissals.

How can I start a claim for discrimination against my employer?

The Equality Act also protects workers of all ages and Tees has helped people in lots of different circumstances facing potential discrimination. If you think you’ve been the victim of discrimination on the grounds of your age – whether you're just starting out in your career or established in your field - talk to Tees.

Our specialist employment law solicitors can help advising you if you may have a claim, and what you can do about it.
