Tees sponsors Essex Cricket club

Tees sponsors the Essex Cricket team

Tees is proud to be sponsoring Essex County Cricket Club as an official Club Partner.

As well as being united by their merger on 1st January this year, both Tees and Wortley Byers share a love of local sport that dates back many years. In Brentwood, the merged business is known as Tees incorporating Wortley Byers. Prior to the merger, Wortley Byers began sponsoring Essex Cricket in 2016, and has since delighted in watching the club go from strength to strength.

Meanwhile, Group Managing Director at Tees, Ashton Hunt, has long been passionate about local sport. Under his leadership, Tees has backed a wide range of sporting teams and clubs, including (but by no means limited to) Bishop’s Stortford Rugby Football Club, Herts and Essex Cricket League, Chelmsford’s Discovery Tri Junior Triathlon Club, and world champion triathlete Emma Deary.

The firm is delighted to continue sponsorship of Essex Cricket and looks forward to watching some excellent games in the company of valued clients and contacts, while enjoying the wonderful hospitality the club has to offer. The England Women v West Indies Women match on 13th June will certainly be one to watch!

Jane Winfield, Partner at Tees incorporating Wortley Byers, has been heavily involved in the sponsorship of Essex Cricket since day one. She says, “Since Wortley Byers began sponsoring Essex Cricket in 2016, I’ve seen how this wonderful sport has the ability to bring people together and promote teamwork, trust and friendship. Now united with Tees, we feel privileged to continue our association with such a successful and well-regarded club and are excited to watch some great matches in the weeks and months to come.”

“Our sponsors are absolutely integral to our continued success,” says Darrell Fox, Commercial Manager at Essex Cricket. “Wortley Byers has loyally supported us for three years now, and we are extremely grateful for their investment in our club’s future. We’re now delighted to welcome Tees as a Club Partner and look forward to having them with us for what promises to be another strong and successful year of cricket.”
