Tees supports Mind, the mental health charity

Tees has selected leading mental health charity Mind as its Charity of the Year for 2019 and 2020.

For many years, Mind has campaigned to improve mental health services, raise awareness and promote understanding, driven by its goal of ensuring that people with mental health problems are treated fairly, positively and with respect.

Tees, which merged with Brentwood-based firm Wortley Byers at the beginning of this year, now has six offices throughout the South East employing 30 partners and 325 staff, all of whom are eager to get the fundraising underway for this worthy cause. Caroline Metcalf, Partner and Head of Corporate Social Responsibility at Tees, said: “With one in four people experiencing a mental health problem every year, charities like Mind have never been more important. We are extremely proud to be sponsoring them this year as they work to deliver potentially life-saving advice and support to hundreds of thousands of people across the country.”

Kicking off our year of charity events with ‘Yellow Day’, a celebration of Tees’ values and brand with a heavy emphasis on fundraising, we pulled out all the stops to raise as much money as we could (and enjoying some Office Olympics into the bargain). A corporate challenge is also on the horizon, and we are currently considering a variety of options.

Karen Bolton, Head of Community & Events fundraising for Mind, said “We’re really grateful to Tees for choosing Mind as their charity of the year. It’s great to hear about some of the fantastic ways staff intend to raise money for Mind. Every penny they raise through their efforts will help to fund Mind’s vital work including the Mind Infoline, our advice services and the campaigning Mind does to secure a better deal for all of us experiencing a mental health problem.”
