Matt Hasler, trainee solicitor at Tees, has been named Trainee of the Year at The Cambridgeshire and District Law Society (CDLS) 2017 Excellence Awards.
The win was announced at the Society’s annual dinner at Christ’s College in Cambridge.
Ashton Hunt, Managing Director of Tees, said: “Matt has a rigorous and analytical mind and is well known amongst his colleagues for his fund-raising efforts outside of work. Matt has achieved excellent results and we are really proud of his efforts.”
This is the second award Matt has won in the past year – he also was awarded the Hertfordshire Law Society Prize due to achieving the highest exam results in the county for the Legal Practice Course exam.
Matt said: ‘It’s a great privilege to receive this award from CDLS, and I am really grateful to have been recognised by the judges. The fact that my fellow Tees trainee Alex Waples was also shortlisted for the award is testament to the fact that Tees provides an exceptional environment to train as a solicitor.”
Tees has also been nominated for two accolades at this year’s prestigious LawCareers.Net (LCN) Training and Recruitment Awards, taking place next month (May). The law firm is up for Best Recruiter - Medium Regional Firm and Letty Glaister, Tees' Training Principal, has been nominated as Best Training Principal (small trainee intake). Letty oversees the recruitment of the firm's trainee solicitors and their progress during their two-year training contract.
Tees’ expert and approachable lawyers specialise in many areas of law including: clinical negligence, family, employment, probate and estate planning, residential conveyancing, commercial property and dispute resolution.
