Since qualification in 1987 I have worked full time in complex litigation, acting for Claimants and Defendants, for private individuals, major reinsurers and Insurers, household name companies and smaller companies.
One area of speciality is claims for Professional Negligence against Accountants, Auditors, Architects, Banks, Barristers, Brokers, Builders, Dentists, Executors, Engineers, Estate Agents, Financial Service Providers, Solicitors, Surveyors, Trade Unions, Trustees, and Valuers.
As a Member of ACTAPS (The Association of Contentious Trust & Probate Specialists), I also specialise in the full range of disputes that arise from Estates, Inheritance, Trusts and Wills this includes:
- challenging Wills
- Inheritance (Provision for Family & Dependants) Act 1975 cases
- disputes between cohabitees of property
- rectification of trust deeds, disputes in respect of lost Wills
- Court of Protection applications especially concerning the contested appointment of attorneys
- retrospective applications for sale of home or to make gifts out of surplus income
- claims relating to Proprietary Estoppel, disputes between cohabitees of property
- and rectification of trust deeds.
I handle many Insurance Disputes including disputes over policy indemnity and interpretation for all forms of policy. I also deal with Critical illness cover and Income Protection Policy claims for insurers and policy holders relating to issues of the duration and nature of incapacity and issues of non-disclosure of pre-existing condition. I act for householder insurers seeking recovery of their outlay in connection with a fire, escape of water and oil, tree roots subsidence damage, impact damage and explosion and for policy holders making claims against insurers for such damage.
As part of our wider Rural Team I handle Farming disputes for our large rural client base I also deal extensively with Commercial, Commercial Property, Personal Injury and Partnership Disputes.
Delivering what you really need
When asked what I do best - I answer ‘anything difficult’. I enjoy helping clients to achieve their goals in their disputes and devising a strategy to do so. I like to win when acting for a Claimant and to achieve the best possible outcome when acting for a Defendant.
I deploy negotiation, and mediation in addition to the court process (and adjudication for construction disputes) to achieve the best solution. Over many years I have gained tactical skills and specialist knowledge through extensive experience which I apply to resolve a dispute to my client’s advantage.
I am known for my work commitment and attention to detail giving everything to achieve the best outcome possible for every client for whom I act.
I adopt a cost effective approach to all situations with creative solutions to problem solving, providing a service that is second to none.
Recent successes includes recovering £8m for a client battling against two top 10 London firms and a contested complicated domicile dispute.

I run the NFU LAS Call First scheme within the firm providing telephone advice to a wide range of farming clients. Furthermore, I have been a Member of ACTAPS (The Association of Contentious Trust & Probate Specialists) for over 10 years and I have also been a member of UKELA (United Kingdom Environmental Lawyers Association) for over 20 years.
I write various Articles for NFU publications.
I have been the clerk to a local primary school for 18 years and so am very familiar with education issues.
