Cycling accident claims

If you've been involved in a cycling accident, you might be entitled to claim compensation.

Can I make a cycling claim?

If you’ve been hurt while cycling you might have a case for compensation. Tees can help you act quickly and effectively after your accident. Our personal injury team will help you make sense of your options, and bring a claim against those responsible for your injury.

If you were injured by a motorist, we'll guide you through the process of claiming through their insurance. If something else was responsible, such as a pothole, we'll help you claim against the local authority or other highway authority. We'll help you untangle everything, and get a clear picture of what happened.

No Win, No Fee cycling accident claims

We offer a free risk assessment of your case and funding of your claim on a No Win, No Fee basis (subject to approval). If you want to know more about how to fund your claim, please get in touch. We'll explain your options, and the sources of funding available to you.

What will happen?

If you want to claim for injury or damage, the burden of proof rests with you. This means you need to gather as much information as you can in the immediate aftermath of the accident. We suggest that you:

  • Get the details of the driver – licence plate, name and address, and insurance company
  • Get the details of the witnesses – in case statements are needed
  • Take photographs – of the damage caused, position of vehicles and obstacles, and so on
  • Report the incident to the police – as soon as possible, if they did not attend
  • Keep any damaged property – it may need to be inspected
  • Keep records of expenses – of anything you’ve had to pay out as a result of the accident

We build your case

Of course, if you were seriously injured you won’t have been in any position to collect any evidence. In this case, we’ll get a copy of the evidence gathered by the police. But the strength of your claim will rest on the strength of the evidence, so, generally, the more the better.
