Tees’ history is deeply rooted in the fabric of our local communities - our partners and employees have supported many local charities, clubs, schools and projects over many years. The creation of the Tees Better Future Fund in 2022, builds on Tees’ heritage and legacy as a firm that values life-long learning and connecting people and communities through the generations.
The Tees Better Future Fund offers grants up to £5,000 for projects that support learning and education and promoting good health and wellbeing in Cambridgeshire, Essex and Hertfordshire. If you have a project and want to apply for funding, visit the Tees Better Future Fund on the Cambridgeshire Community Foundation website.
Promoting Learning and Education
Projects that promote talent, increase social mobility and create opportunities for people to thrive and fulfil their potential are welcomed. We are keen to partner on projects that look to increase knowledge, improve mental health, build skills and raise confidence, so through learning and education, together we can improve the life chances of the younger generation.
Projects that increase access to sports and exercise for children, young people and families, and help to improve physical and mental health through activity, are key aspects of this fund. Tees promotes healthy life-styles and bringing people together through sports and physical activity, in turn creating new opportunities, promoting community cohesion and reducing isolation. Projects are also invited that support people’s mental health.
Here at Tees we enjoy being an active member of the communities within which we live and work. Many Tees employees are actively engaged with local charities for example, volunteering as trustees, providing pro bono advice and all our people have one day each year of paid leave to volunteer at any charitable project of their choice.
We sponsor some of Herts and Essex’s biggest sports teams including Bishop’s Stortford Rugby Club and Essex County Cricket Club. We take pride in sponsoring the clubs which reflect the values that we as a business believe in, and we see the sponsorships as an excellent way of giving back to the community that has given so much to us.
We also try where we can to support local businesses, including featuring them on our enewsletters. Check out this article about Mini Miss Bread bakery from one of our recent additions.
