I joined Tees in December 2023 as a senior associate in the dispute resolution and litigation department, having worked for various London firms since I qualified in 1994. I started my career undertaking general commercial litigation, in more recent years, I have concentrated on my specialist areas of contentious trusts and probate and property litigation.
Delivering what you need
In all matters, I adopt a considered and commercial approach. I appreciated that in contested trust and probate matters, clients are often going through an emotionally difficult time and need support as well as sound legal advice.
I always endeavour to resolve disputes through negotiation and mediation. However, when court proceedings are necessary, I have 30 years of experience in the County Courts, High Court, First Tier Tribunal Property Chamber and Court of Appeal.
The areas of law I typically practise in are as follows:
Contentious trusts and probate
- Disputes arising out of lifetime transactions - claims regarding, undue influence, capacity, and joint ownership.
- Court of Protection – statutory wills, accounts and misappropriation.
- Claims under the Inheritance ( Provision for Family and Dependants ) Act 1975.
- Challenges to will include (i) Construction and rectification of wills and (ii) claims about the validity of wills, including revocation clauses, testamentary capacity, knowledge and approval, fraud, and undue influence.
- Claims against personal representatives – accounts and enquiries, breach of trust and fiduciary duty, removal and substitution.
- Disappointed beneficiaries – proprietary estoppel and constructive trust claims.
- Mutual wills
- Construction, rectification and variation of trusts.
- Applications under Trustees of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996.
Property litigation
- Landlord & Tenant disputes ( Residential and commercial) – possession claims, rent arrears, repairs, dilapidations, business lease renewals

- Trespass
