Biography
I am a Partner and Head of Division for Personal Legal Services. I jointly lead the Private Client Department, a team of approximately 70 professionals, including five Partners, experienced lawyers and a dedicated team of Tax Accountants. Our team is available to meet clients at any of our offices, as well as at home, in hospital or in a care setting where required.
With nearly two decades of experience in Private Client law, I advise individuals, families and Trustees on a wide range of matters. My particular area of expertise is Trust law, including the creation, administration and termination of Trusts. I also act as a professional Trustee for a number of clients, providing practical guidance and continuity in the management of family wealth and succession planning.
In addition, I have significant experience advising rural clients on succession planning, asset protection and tax-efficient wealth transfer strategies.
Delivering what you really need
I believe that effective legal advice is about far more than simply understanding the law. It requires taking the time to understand each client’s personal circumstances, objectives, and concerns, and to provide clear, practical advice tailored to their individual needs.
I pride myself on being approachable and straightforward, helping clients navigate often complex legal and tax issues with confidence. By taking a holistic view of a client’s circumstances (considering both financial and personal factors, as well as historic and future considerations), I aim to provide comprehensive advice that supports informed decision-making. My approach is not simply to identify issues, but to work collaboratively with clients to explore solutions and achieve the best possible outcome.

Nicola Havers has exceptional client focus, understanding and listening skills.

Further information
I qualified as a solicitor in 2006 with the international law firm Jones Day, where I trained and initially specialised in Commercial Property law. Following several years in Commercial Property practice in both the City and St Albans, I developed a growing interest in Private Client work and joined Tees in 2010.
My background in Property law continues to provide valuable insight in my current practice, particularly when advising on Trusts, estate planning, succession matters and the transfer of family assets. The combination of Private Client and Property expertise enables me to provide practical, well-rounded advice on complex wealth and succession planning matters.
“I have recently been involved in a long and protracted probate involving the estate of my sister. Throughout this three year period I have received help and support of a high order. In particular from Nicola Havers who has been very understanding and sympathetic to my situation. ” Legal 500 UK, 2025
