What are my options if I feel unfairly treated at work because of my sex or gender?

Sexual discrimination at work occurs when an employee is treated differently on the basis of their sex, perceived gender or because of their association with someone of a particular sex. Men and women can be victims of sexual discrimination and harassment at work.

If you’re experiencing sexual discrimination at work, talk to us. Our experts are here to listen, and everything you tell us is completely confidential. Our employment solicitors can help to guide you through your rights and options available to you.

What counts as sexual discrimination?

The Equality Act 2010 made it unlawful for workers to be treated less favourably because of their sex. Direct or indirect discrimination, harassment and victimisation are all prohibited by the Act. But we continue to see cases where people are subjected to unfair treatment because of their sex. This could take the form of stereotypical assumptions about someone because of their sex. Or it could be harassment in the form of unwelcome conduct, inappropriate language or innuendo. If you’re suffering from sexual discrimination at work, we can help you move forward.
