Education law solicitors for schools and teachers

Education law is a highly specialised field and the law changes frequently. Our education sector team advises schools in all areas of their day-to-day (and not so day-to-day) activities. We support education providers through many challenging situations, including:

  • School admission and exclusions, including IRP hearings
  • Special Educational Needs (SEN) and disability
  • Allegations of discrimination and breach of the Equality Act 2010
  • Data protection and compliance, including GDPR compliance
  • Increasing published admission numbers and public consultation
  • Changes to the status of a school
  • Allegations of professional misconduct, including allegations of educational negligence or bullying
  • Policy drafting and consultation
  • Complaints to the Local Authority and OFSTED
  • Safeguarding
  • Advising independent schools on recovery of fees and allegations of breach of contract
  • Reputational risk management – including slander and libel on social media
  • Rounded legal advice for education providers

Tees is a full-service law firm and our specialists work seamlessly with one another to ensure you receive rounded legal advice. We look at your situation from every angle, leaving no stone unturned. You’ll benefit from our combined expertise, while receiving specialist support from an education law solicitor.

We also offer advice on complimentary areas of the law including employment and HR support; drafting and reviewing policies and procedures; public consultation; personal injury claims and allegations of regulatory breach resulting in injury to a staff member or student; and property law. We also advise on data protection compliance and breach in light of GDPR.
