How can I help you?

I am the firm’s most senior family lawyer with over 35 years dispute resolution experience across the range of matrimonial and civil litigation. I focus on the resolution of financial and property claims upon relationship breakdown particularly in farming, business and professional families where extensive business knowledge is aligned with forensic legal expertise. The same expertise is brought to Inheritance Act and Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act claims.

I am also experienced in providing advice and guidance on professional matters. Having been the firm’s Managing Partner for many years prior to becoming Senior Partner and Group Chairman, I am able to bring together business and dispute resolution expertise.

As Chair of the Risk Committee of the group I am experienced in the management of business risk and in guiding others on professional risk and indemnity issues.

I take great pride in helping lead the firm’s progressive growth and development as a forward thinking professional services provider. For other professionals and business organisations I can provide independent chairmanship or consultancy.

Testimonials

Mr G

Bishop's Stortford

It was some 18 years ago now that you advised me on my divorce settlement and at the time we discussed options around suffering some early financial ‘pain’, at the expense of maintaining 100% of my pension. We decided on this approach and you did a great job countering barristers engaged by my then wife, to conclude a reasonable settlement for me at the Court in Harlow. How good your advice has turned out to be, now that me and my new wife can decide our future pension arrangements without any ‘external interference’. Thanks very much for your help and advice all those years ago - it has proven to be excellent!

Mr B

Cheshire

Over the last few years, as the boys have grown up and are making their own way in the world, I have often thought back to some of our conversations in 2007 and your wise words on future possibilities. As I approach retirement, I will be left with some choices to make on where to spend my time, but am in the fortunate position of being able to make those choices without financial pressure. Tees have continued to support me professionally - in the purchase of a flat with a tenancy issue, in my former home in Bishop’s Stortford.

Ms D

Bedfordshire

I was always very grateful that you predicted my husband’s unhelpful actions so correctly when we were divorcing, and suggested that we didn’t waste time messing around and just set a court date, so that he would have to comply with requests and do the form filling that he hates so much. I was able to take early retirement from school a couple of years ago, because of my independent pension. All in all, I still can’t thank you enough for all the help, advice and encouragement you gave me at the time of the divorce.  I always felt really safe that you would get the best settlement in the nicest possible way.
