DVTs and pulmonary emboli claims

If you have suffered medical complications because of a DVT or pulmonary emboli, you may have a claim for compensation.

Starting your claim for a deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism

When you go into hospital for surgery or other treatment, you expect to receive good care. And mostly you will. But sometimes it can go wrong. For example, you might develop a deep vein thrombosis (DVT). This is a blood clot, usually in the leg. Left untreated it can break off and block a blood vessel in the lungs, causing a pulmonary embolism, which is a potentially fatal condition.

If you believe that a loved one has died as a result of a pulmonary embolism from substandard care, or that you’ve suffered a DVT or pulmonary embolism as a result of poor medical management, you need legal advice.

How we can help you

You’ll want to talk to someone who has the experience and knowledge to help you find out what has gone wrong and what you can do about it.

We’ve worked with lots of people with similar claims and our solicitors can explain your legal position in simple terms. If a family member has died, you may be able to make a claim on behalf of their estate. If you have suffered from a DVT or pulmonary embolism, you might be entitled to financial compensation to meet the costs for specialist equipment and long-term care.

Clear, practical advice

When you come to us for help, we’ll listen carefully to your story and we’ll ask you what outcome you might want. Then we’ll use our knowledge and experience to look closely at the details of your case and give you clear, honest and realistic advice. We’ll explain your options in plain language and recommend a way forward.

We’ll find out what went wrong

We understand that you’ll probably want to know why things went wrong, and you’ll want to make sure it doesn’t happen to anybody else. We can help you do that.

Financial compensation

We will tell you if you have a case for compensation – we've been working in medical negligence for years and have won many complex cases.

Every case is unique, but the impact of a medical error can be emotionally and physically devastating. Compensation can provide financial security for the future, particularly where there are lasting needs. It could, for example, pay for professional carers, medical treatment or therapies, specialist equipment, housing needs and so on. We will factor it all into any claim and help you get the best possible financial settlement for your needs.

Don’t worry about costs

We won’t charge you to assess your case – it’s free.

After that, you can pursue your case in different ways without you having to pay the costs as it proceeds, for example, with insurance or a no-win no-fee agreement. We’ll discuss the options with you once we’ve completed the initial assessment, but if you want to know more now, please get in touch.
